IHMP PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL 2008-2010
4TH Meeting
Date: 3 August 2008

I. Opening Prayer- Gospel Reading and Reflection by Fr. Des Martin

II. Introduction of New PPC Members by Fr. Martin

a. Assistant Coordinator for UP Village: Dr. Maranan

b. Asst. Coordinator for Bibliarasal : Dr. Fe Garcia

c. Fr. Martin acknowledged other asst area coordinators

III. Reading and Corrections of the previous minutes

-the ff. corrections were noted:

In 5.5 : Php1,500 instead of php 1,000/sqm ;

In 5.9: 2008 should be placed after the months mentioned;

In 4.2: Sis Carmel not Carmen;


IV. Treasurer’s Report by Bro. Nesty Acosta; Pls see attached copy of financial report

- IV.1 Bro. Mel suggested to approach balikbayan IHMP parishioners Mr. And Mrs. Sonny Miguel to ask for solicitations for the roof project

- IV. 2 Fr. Martin announced that the Claretians will give Php 63,000 every month for 4 months for the roof project

- IV. 3 Bro. Regi announced that solicitation letters are available at the parish office;


V. IHMP Roof Repair update : Sis Lena noted that 56% of the work has been Accomplished;

- volunteers for people who will accept pledges outside church:

Saturday : Sis Alma G. and Altar Ladies
Sunday: Greeters and Collectors

VI. IHMP@40 : by Bro. Rolly Alarcon

V1. 1 -Announcement of Projects for 2009 to be headed by Bro. Rolly: Fiesta, Santacruzan, Coffeetable Book; Bro. Rolly calls for support for the
mentioned projects

VI. 2 The following suggestions were made:

a. Bro Ting: That Ate Fe Garcia be part of the committee making the
coffeetable book

b. Sis Timmy Bernaldes: a research committee be made to get data on the ihmp church; there should be a contest on who will bring the oldest memorabilia of IHMP church; to make fiesta more special since it is the 40th year of the church, there should be daily special activities before the fiesta proper;

c. Sis Bella Templonuevo: Fr Roni has a copy of the history of all organizations of the church

d. Sis Carmel Almendras: announcement during masses about the coffeetable book so as to solicit support from the pioneers of the church

e. Sis Fe Garcia: made a comment on the difficulty of collecting data in writing a book

VI.3 There is an active website –

This website is still in soft launching and will be available for all parishioners as long as they register; there is a classified ad section as well as question and answer section ; If there are questions addressed to Fr. Martin, the people can just ask him through email.

VII. Fr. Martin informed the PPC of the application of the IHMP church as a National Heritage since it was made by the famous architect Ted Locsin and Has one of the unique structural architecture in the country;

VIII. Ministry Reports

a. Sis Charo Garcia(coordinator for Formation)

- noted that she is finalizing the calendar up to the end of 2008, she is requesting other ministry heads to submit final lists of activities;
- Seminar on “Abundance” by Carlo “Pido” K Aguilar will be on Aug 11, 2008 at 6 to 9pm
- There is a need for cathecists for the Diocese of Cubao
- Fr. Bong Dilag to be invited for a special PPC gathering regarding spirituality of stewardship
- Central area coordinators to meet after the ppc meeting

b. Bro. Ting Ajon (Family and Life)

- representing Bro. Pip and Sis Wilma Cua who just came from US
- Pre cana seminars are ongoing;

c. Sis Jocelyn Tabaculde (BIR-BEC)

- Youth gathering
- Gabay every 2nd Sunday
- On going elections
- July 17- seminar on Balik-probinsya TransportationAssistance by DSWD
- July 24- Intl adoption on Character Building
- Other Areas also donated to the IHMP 1,500/sqm project

d. Sis Lerma de la Cruz (Social Service Head)

- Informed the ppc about the following :

1. there are three caregiver graduates; there school is willing to give them jobs abroad; one graduate still very young, might decide to proceed with schooling

2. there are nine benefactors of Caritas Scholars: 6 college, 1 vocational, 1 high school

3. Webcasting at the Pentecostal church

4. 2 scholar for religious education

5. Program of “Bigasan” still being under negotiation

6. 3rd Saturday of the month – diocesan meeting

7. Php 1,000 assistance as per referral available for medical or other needs;


e. Sis Alma Angeles (Medical Services)

- reported on meeting with medical services transparochial level; problem with attendance; topic on family planning discussed
- Sis Alma volunteered to attend meetings as long as nobody is duly assigned ; stated that there is a problem with available doctors to man the IHMP medical service every Sunday;

f. Sis Vigin (Eucharistic League)

- Recollection for advent has been moved to an indefinite date because Bishop Ongtioco hasn’t given a specific date yet;

B. Bro. Regi reminded all ministries using function rooms that it should be left clean after use
